Why A Rich Woman’s World?

I started A Rich Woman’s World to address a few problems I have noticed in my years as a young woman and to start a conversation. As I am about to enter the full time work force after being a student for all of my life, I realized that my peers and I have been taught nearly nothing about personal finance and how to use our money from impending (hopefully) paychecks at our future jobs. The only formal education I’ve had about money was an Intro to Economics class, which doesn’t exactly help me figure out how to use my own money. Unfortunately, I am not sure this lack of formal education is going to change any time soon, so we have to take it into our own hands.

The name comes from the Abba song “Money, Money, Money.” I chose it because the song states that to have fun in a rich mans world, you need a little money. I think this statement holds very true. We do live in a world built for rich men to profit, and to have fun, we do need money for food, travel, clothing, survival, etc.

I am in no way a financial expert, but I wanted to start this so as I invest my time learning about money and personal finance, you can benefit as well. Maybe you don’t have the time to read the books, listen to the podcasts, and read the web, but I do and I want to share. I want to eventually grow my knowledge so I can succeed financially and teach other young people how to do the same. I also want to reach my financial goal of early retirement and living abroad, and I think learning as much as possible will only help me get there faster.

This space will be one for learning, venting about the economic state of the world, chatting about money, and eventually travel (please please please) and how to do so within your finances.
